I’m the backpacker, nature enthusiast, and lead guide behind Wilder Walks. For me, backpacking is a way of life. I’ve backpacked thousands of miles and camped hundreds of nights in ecosystems all around the world. I’ve summited Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, trekked Cerro Castillo in Chilean Patagonia, and thru-hiked from Mexico to Canada along the Pacific Crest Trail.

I love backpacking because it engages my senses and focuses my attention. I find that time expands when I’m outside – it’s where my favorite memories are made.

The program and trips I’ve designed will help you learn to be a better backpacker and deepen your connection with nature, too.

When I’m not on the trail, I’m probably hanging out with Laura or biking from a brewery to a burrito spot in my neighborhood in the Mission. I also spend time supporting Big City Mountaineers as a member of the board of directors and consulting with select organizations on strategy, marketing, and experience design.

Professional certifications include:

  • Wilderness Medicine and CPR (Wilderness First Responder)

  • Certified California Naturalist

  • Leave No Trace Instructor
